In March 2018, Cheree Felder had the opportunity to speak to over one hundred community college students during her Cultivate Your Leadership session at the National Student Advocacy Conference 2018. The advocacy conference was hosted by the American Student Association of Community Colleges in Washington, DC.

During the speaking session, students were encouraged to be the change in their communities. Furthermore, attendees learned the skills and tools needed to elevate their voices within their communities to propel change. Lastly, attendees participated in a hands-on approach to foster strategic leadership skills to be effective community college leaders.
